Solar Energy Systems for Multiple Government Facilities
Hawkesbury City Council is the largest local government area in metropolitan NSW and has an estimated population of over 65,000. It is made up of many small townships and localities, with the majestic Hawkesbury River that flowing through it.
PROJECT CHALLENGES
The Council was exploring options to tackle energy sustainability and affordability including: energy efficiency upgrades across council-owned facilities and boosting renewable energy investment.
OUR SOLUTION
The Green Guys Group is delivered Solar Solutions across 12 Council sites in the precinct, empowering the Council to take care of their energy consumption and costs while achieving sustainability and resilience to the changing climate.
The solutions designed include both roof mount and ground mount systems as well as solar monitoring integrated into the Council’s existing monitoring system. We used Jinko panels and Fronius inverters.
This Hawkesbury City Solar Project is the first renewable energy project to kick-off under the Light Years Ahead energy efficiency banner and will pave the way for further solar investment across Western Sydney.
The Council has obtained Bronze Accreditation in the NSW Government’s Sustainability Advantage Program with this project as one of the major sustainability projects in its full suite of sustainability and environment programs.
